**Boil Water Advisory for Muskegon Heights**

**URGENT: Boil Your Water Before Using**

Due to a drop in system pressure caused by a failure in the supervisory control and data acquisition system on April 24, 2024, the Muskegon Heights Water Department advises residents to boil water once service is restored. This precautionary measure is necessary to ensure your safety following the loss of water pressure in the distribution system. Currently, water service has not been restored.

**What You Should Do Once Water is Restored:**
- DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Boil all water for one minute, let it cool before using, or use bottled water.
- Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.

**Current Actions:**
- City staff are investigating the system pressure drop and undertaking corrective actions, including flushing the system and collecting water samples to confirm water meets safety standards.
- We are collaborating with the City of Muskegon to maintain water supply, albeit at reduced pressure.

**Safety Notice:**
- Continue using boiled or bottled water until it is declared safe.
- We anticipate resolving the issue within 72 hours and will notify you when the boil water advisory is lifted and water service is restored.

**Further Information:**
- For updates and more details, please contact Muskegon Heights Water Filtration Plant at 231.780.3415 or the City Manager's Office at 231.733.8999.
- Follow our social media updates for ongoing information.

Please ensure this message reaches all affected individuals. Your health and safety are our top priority. Thank you for your cooperation.

They’re saying the charter doesn’t mention it and Roberts Rules of Orders don’t apply I’m assuming

Does it have to be on a Monday?

Not based on individualized priorities that causes things to be convoluted

Ok I’m going to pull it up after the meeting. Haven’t read it in a while

First person to speak about the YOUTH

The person that is selected should be identified based on the skills abilities that are associated with the job description

The Charter is severely outdated

You should email the City Clerk and cc the Attorney

Anyone can choose to abstain for reasons that are stated and do notated

Again, If the correct staffing agency had been hired, this process would have been handled successfully...rating system and all. 😉 #sidsimonestaff

Charter needs to be rewritten

That’s crazy. It’s a number of things on there that need to change

Awesome Points, Ms. Kitchen!

It may be mentioned in a different area David Fox

Listening

If we had gotten the recreation department back up and running this would be a great option.

By Next Monday This Should Be Done.

It won't, due to the updated charter being voted down.

Yo why don’t y’all clarify and vote to turn the heights water back on

Can we download the current one and the one that was voted down by the past administration for the citizens to view online on the city page?

A charter that is more than 10 years out of date! If we don't change these attitudes and unhealthy mindsets it is over. The city is a Business, not a Personal Platform Of Any Sort!

Good Point!

🙋🏽‍♀️Could you please help us understand the status of the revised Charter? What is the disposition after it was submitted and can we continue on to review it (as council and citizens) to adopt. The current is far antiquated and citizens have spent vast and valuable time revising it. Any updates are certainly better than the structure of the former that we are forced to work with. If it was voted against, (which would be ridiculous), why?? Who could benefit from it not being ratified?

Preach Ms. Kitchen!!!!!

Yes!!

Is this chat monitored and will some of the questions in the chat be answered during the meeting?

Glad the water filtration is on and poppin find a brewery and gettum in there! offset those waterbills. Good luck!

When will the paving from Oakwood to Norton be completed? streets of 7th, 8th, and 9th and Highland?

Is there a normal DPW schedule to maintain common area cleaning?

I read that Broadway Project will take 12-18 months. When will the Broadway Project start?

Process and procedures are for game tight . When you do not uphold them you are making wiggle room for bs

The scope of work in the contract should answer the background check question.

All my friends in the heights been spending thousand on their suspensions

They do not want to incur the costs of thr background checks.

You should not ask personal questions, but should be related to the experience and skills.

just here and there nothin that would mess with quality

Is there any kind of fill that the road commission could supply that citizens could just grab at the dumpster day just for the foot of peoples driveways or some public event?

If you own them than you could go off grid for some of your lighting and hook up solar fixtures

Fix the roads

It would be cheaper to hire staff than to pay contractors?

There is nothing to approve if you spend the funds first and then bring it to the council. What can you do then? This is backward practice!

Fix the roads

🤦🏽‍♀️Thank you Mr. Jenkins

Us black contractors are not getting jobs in a black city is ridiculous, why is every black ran city in poverty, dirty, and in distress, no black unity ⁉️

Why are y'all hiring white officers in a black city, white officers kuklanski and Doyle are racist white officers, I filed civil rights complaints against , #babypowder
