PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FINAL NOTICE – WATER SERVICE DISCONNECTIONS BEGIN APRIL 1
The City of Muskegon Heights will begin water service disconnections on April 1 for all accounts more than 60 days past due, in accordance with City ordinance.
Under municipal utilities code provisions (see Chapter 94 – Utilities, Sec. 94-610: Discontinuance of Water Service), the City has the authority to terminate water service for delinquent accounts.
If your account is past due, you must act immediately:
✔️ Pay your balance in full
✔️ Contact the City Muskegon Heights Water Department to arrange payment (if eligible)

Shutoff notices have already been issued. No further extensions will be granted.
Failure to resolve your balance before April 1 will result in:
- Water service interruption
- Additional fees for restoration
- Muskegon Heights Code of Ordinances: Local regulations, specifically under Chapter 82 (Utilities) Once a water bill is moved to the property taxes, it becomes a tax lien. Failure to pay these taxes can eventually lead to property foreclosure under Public Act 123 of 1999,
