PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
City of Muskegon Heights – Upcoming Construction & Water Service Updates

The City of Muskegon Heights would like to inform residents and businesses of important infrastructure work scheduled over the next several weeks. Please review the following updates and plan accordingly:

Water Service Interruption – Throughout the week of April 27, 2026
Water main tie-in work will occur at Broadway and 6th Street. This will result in a temporary water shutoff for customers on 6th Street between Summit and Sherman from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Water service is expected to be restored before the end of the day.

After service is restored, you may notice cloudy water due to air in the lines. To resolve this:

  • Run cold water (preferably from a bathtub first) to flush the system
  • Clean faucet aerators
  • Flush outdoor spigots as well

Ongoing and Upcoming Construction Work Includes:

  • Replacement of sanitary sewer manholes on Broadway between 9th and 5th Streets
  • Additional water main work on 6th Street between Manahan and Sherman
  • Storm drain installation on Broadway between 9th and 5th Streets
  • Water service line replacements on Broadway between 8th and 5th Streets
  • Concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation on the north side of Broadway between Glade and Temple

Important Access Notice:
Access to businesses along Broadway between Glade and Temple will be closed for the entire week starting April 27 to allow newly poured concrete to properly cure. Please plan alternate routes.

Citywide Improvements:

  • Water service line replacements are ongoing throughout the city as part of the Lead Service Line Replacement Program
  • Storm drain replacement will take place at Howden and Delano following water main work
  • Water main replacement will follow at Wood and Delano, with staggered intersection closures to minimize disruption

The City appreciates your patience as these essential upgrades are completed to improve infrastructure and public safety.
