Requests for Proposals and Qualifications – Fire Apparatus to be user by the Muskegon Heights Fire Department
Until March 18, 2022 2:00PM EST for the purchase of one (1)Mini Pumper Crew Cab, as per the
specifications.
Submissions will be opened/tabulated immediately at 2:00 PM localtime on March 18, 2022.
The supplier must state the time of delivery for the complete truck. Muskegon Heights Fire Department
is looking to have the truck delivered within 45 to 120 days of the closing date. Muskegon Heights Fire
Department is to be advised immediately of any necessary change in the stated delivery time. In
addition, the bidder must submit relevant manufacturer’s literature on the equipment with the
proposal.
The lowest, or any proposal, will not necessarily be accepted.
Note: The City anticipates that stock and demo apparatus will result in limitations to available
customizations due to the narrow delivery time frame.

What Is Being Done?
- The project involves full depth reconstruction of two lanes of undivided roadway in two phases:
- Phase One:
- Asphalt Removal
- Sidewalk and curb removals
- Storm sewer improvements
- Roadway grading and aggregate base

How Traffic Will be Affected:
- Construction will take place in two phases:
- Delano Avenue will be temporarily closed during construction between the intersection of Sanford
- Street to the intersection of Hoyt Street. Residents are encouraged to park on side streets during
- construction.
- Traffic to businesses and residents will be maintained utilizing side streets and alleys.
- Pedestrian traffic will be detoured as necessary during construction.

FIRE FIGHTER
Salary $36,606.77 โ $46,380.33
The City of Muskegon Heights is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Fire Fighter. This
employee does firefighting work in the protection of life and property by combating, extinguishing and
preventing fires. A fire fighter is responsible for rapid and efficient performance on specialized equipment
under emergency conditions. Although firefighting, including equipment operation is most important to
the work of the firefighter, a large portion of their time is spent preparing to combat fires and maintaining
fire station property and equipment. Work is normally performed under close supervision and specific
work assignments are given by a superior officer both in fighting fires and at the station. A firefighter is
subject to call at any time in case of emergencies. May be required to perform fire code and safety
inspections. Performs all other related work as required or assigned.
Applicant must meet the following requirements prior to the following prior to September 30, 2021 to
qualify for employment:
- Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED
- State of Michigan Firefighter Level I & II Certification
- ย Valid Michigan Medical First Responder License (or Michigan Emergency Medical Technician
License) - Current Basic Life Support CPR Certification
- Valid Michigan driverโs license
- Experience in structural firefighting.
Applicants may be required to complete the following:
- Written examination
- Physical agility test
- Multiple oral interviews
- Physical examination (including alcohol/drug screen)
- Comprehensive background investigation
